1. He is over her. 

He isn’t, and how can you blame him? She was to him as he was to you, the sun and the earth and everything in between. 

2. You are special. 

You are special, but not to him. He sees you as the girl who wasn’t her as he chases a girl he will never obtain. 

3. He loves you. 

Maybe in his twisted mind and broken heart, he does love you in his own way, but it is not the love that you need. That will make you secure and lift you in times of sorrow. It is the only form of love he has received, so it is the only form of love he knows how to give.

4. It’s him, not you. 

This one is the closest to the truth. He is a screwed up individual that is incapable of loving you because he still loves her. But still, you can’t be her and he will always hold that against you. 

5. You will forget about him

You won’t. He will be there in the back of your mind as you live out the rest of your life, the boy and life you could have had. It won’t be as painful to think about him as it is now, but his name will always add an extra beat to your heart and color to your cheeks. You will get over him, but you will never forget him.
